Because the purity of our copper (typically 99.995%), its electrical conductivity is very high, typically from 101% to 102% IACS. The quality of our products ensures problem-free manufacturing operations with high yields.

The greatest advantage of our copper lies in its immunity to hydrogen embrittlement. Oxygen-free copper ensures excellent material structure after heat treatment. Our copper is characterized by strength, good cold-working properties, good bendability and solderability.

Advantages:

High electrical conductivity

High thermal conductivity

Resistance to hydrogen embrittlement

Excellent weldability, brazability and solderability

High homogeneity and reliability

Good workability

Excellent deep-drawability

Good impact and fatigue strength

No copper oxide inclusions

Excellent immunity to chemical corrosion

Applications:

Power Distribution System

Distribution Fuse Links

Busbar Trunking

Distribution Transformers

Earthing & Lightning Protection

Power Generation

The success of our Drawn Products has been built by meeting the customer’s need with quality, service, advanced proprietary skills, pure raw materials, flexibility and expert personnel.

As an established or potential customer, it is important that you choose a partner with a record of innovations so that you receive the products, level of service and capabilities that will keep on contributing to the success of your business.

Continuous extrusion:

Chandra Proteco Ltd uses the Conform-extrusion process which is a unique process for copper sections. The process is extremely energy saving compared to conventional extrusions methods, and demonstrably advantageous in several areas of production.

Oxygen-Free Copper Rods are taken from the furnace and loaded into the Continuous Extrusion machine. The copper rod is passed into the rotating extrusion wheel and fed into the extrusion zone where pressure and temperature encourage the material to palsticize and so become available for extrusion.

At this point the material is introduced into a die chamber and is forced to extrude through a die suitably designed for the section required. The pressure and temperature required for the extrusion are principally generated by the main drive motor which turns the extrusion wheel.

The copper rod is extruded to the size the customer needs, for example as copper bars, rods, profiles or copper tapes. While hot, the copper is quenched directly in water resulting in a grain structure that is superior to any other process. This also prevents oxidation of the surface.
