The
required prefinished / predetermined size is produced. This is followed by cold rolling with or without edging rolls or drawing through a die to achieve the tensility, hardness, bend test and grain size values that the user needs.
There is
also a less-known Cold Extrusion Technique
(Isostatic Hydrostatic) which directly produces
soft material without annealing. Currently, this
is mainly used for certain defense and
research-oriented applications.
While
calculating the required size of the busbars,
the general thumb rule is 2 amp per sq mm.
However, a wider busbar can carry more current
due to natural cooling through the exposed
surface area.
Tubular busbars can carry even more current due to the natural flow of heated air from inside the tube to the outside. |
