OFHC and Micro Alloyed Cast Rods

Oxygen-Free, High-Conductivity Copper (OFHC) is produced by the direct conversion of refined high quality copper cathode. LME Grade A (purity 99.95%), is made by melting and casting under strictly controlled conditions under vacuum or CO gas oxidization to prevent exposure to air during processing.

OFHC ensures extra high grade copper wire with an oxygen content less than 10 ppm. OFHC has a higher electrical and thermal conductivity, higher recrystallization temperature and workability than normal copper.

The application of OFHC is widespread in electrical and electronic equipment which needs high efficiency, and accurate and durable material. Chandra Proteco Ltd has been manufacturing OFHC by the UP-CAST process and supplying high-quality copper for ultra high voltage transformer winding coils according to customers’ requirements.

Advantages:
Higher electrical / Thermal conductivity

Resistance to Hydrogen Embrittlement

Excellent weldability / brazeability / solderability (Brazing in reducing hydrogenous atmosphere possible)

Higher homogeneity / reliability

Better workability / Drawability / Creep resistance

o copper oxide inclusion

Excellent immunity to chemical attack

Bare Copper Wires:

Chandra Proteco Ltd manufactures Bare rectangular wires and Bare round wires depending on customers' requirements / specifications.

Bare rectangular wires are used in welding machines, motors, railways and electronic products.

Bare round wires are widely used in the electrical and electronic industries.

Production Range:

Bare rectangular wire: width 3.0 - 30.0 mm; thickness 1.0 - 10.0 mm

Bare round wire: 8.0 - 22.0 mm diameter
